At Least One Dress Size Per Week: That’s what the lemon diet promises, which has been very popular with Hollywood’s celebrity ladies for years.
As is well known, sour makes fun. Now it should also make you slim. As the name suggests, the lemon diet is all about rotten citrus fruit. Stanley Burroughs invented it in the 1940s. Known as the Master Cleanse, however, it is still prevalent.
In the classic lemon diet, only lemon juice is drunk for a week, diluted with water, and refined with maple syrup and cayenne pepper. This fasting cure promises tremendous success because you eat nothing, and the pounds disappear quickly. You can lose about 2 to 3 kg per week with this form of the lemon diet.
In addition to this original variant, other forms of the lemon diet are not associated with quite as much starvation.
Variant 1 Of The Lemon Diet: You drink the particular lemon juice with every meal but continue to eat normally. The liquid is said to curb appetite and also stimulate fat burning. Since you usually eat, you’ll lose weight slowly with this form of the lemon diet, but you can do it for more than a week at a time.
Approximate weight loss: 0.5 kg / week
Variant 2 Of The Lemon Diet: You stick to a unique nutrition plan and drink lemon juice. You can also do this form of the lemon diet for longer than a week. You lose more weight than with variant 1, but not as much as with the classic lemon diet, where you only drink.
Approximate weight loss: 1 kg/week

How much weight you lose depends on the lemon diet variant you choose. However: Even if you take the classic fasting diet and lose a lot of weight, the yo-yo effect is very likely to kick in as soon as you usually eat again. And: This week, you primarily lose water, not fat.
Even the moderate versions of the lemon diet are not necessarily recommended. If you drink so much lemon juice, the acid can attack the stomach lining, just like your teeth. And whether lemon juice stimulates fat burning has not been scientifically confirmed.
Much Better Than Any Lemon Diet: Change your diet permanently. Eat a portion of vegetables with every meal, swap out white flour products for whole grain foods, and eat your fill of low-calorie foods. Fast food, convenience foods, and sweets are not prohibited, but you should only eat them rarely and choose small portions. With this concept, you lose weight slowly but permanently. Especially if you also exercise regularly.
