Does Vitamin C Have The Same Effects On Weight Loss As Exercise?

In overweight people, the risk of vascular diseases is greatly increased. As a study shows, the intake of vitamin C can have a similar positive effect on the risk of illness as exercise.

In addition to a healthy diet, regular exercise is essential for health. Overweight people, in particular, should increase their amount of exercise in order to improve their health.

Being very overweight often brings with it diseases that often endanger the heart.

The hormone endothelin-1 (ET-1) plays an important role in this: It is formed in the blood vessel walls and is responsible for making them contract. In overweight people, however, the activity of this hormone is greatly increased.

Overweight: Increased Risk Of Vascular Disease

This causes the blood vessels to constrict, causing the blood flow to slow down. If the organ blood flow decreases too much, this poses a risk for vascular diseases.

Exercise usually reduces the activity of the hormone. A study by the American Physiological Society (APS), which was published in the journal ScienceDaily, shows, vitamin C also has similar positive effects.

The study shows that taking 500 mg of vitamin C daily reduces ET-1 activity in the same way that a long walk would have done. The vascular functions could be improved sufficiently.

According to the scientists, nutritional supplements are therefore a good way of counteracting vasoconstriction for severely overweight people – if they cannot exercise.

An oversupply of foods such as fruit and vegetables is not possible.

Sport Is Irreplaceable

However, it is not a good idea to skip exercise and only rely on vitamin C. Although the capsules have a positive effect on the blood vessels, they cannot keep up with the good properties of sport.

This affects the body in many different ways, it improves stamina and muscles, strengthens the bones, and of course, burns calories.

So try to move as often as possible. You should take at least 10,000 steps every day . Additional workouts also keep your body fit and vital.

Foods High In Vitamin C

In the course of a healthy and balanced lifestyle, however, there are also many vitamins on your menu, of course, that is out of the question. These are best consumed through fresh food.

The Following Foods Contain A Lot Of Vitamin C

  • Citrus fruits like lemons, oranges, and grapefruits
  • Strawberries
  • Red peppers
  • parsley
  • Cabbage vegetables like broccoli, kale, or Brussels sprouts
  • Blackcurrant
  • Aronia berries – in this country, there are more dried than not-from-concentrate juice or as superfood powder
  • Sea buckthorn – highly recommended as sea buckthorn juice
  • Wild blueberries (high concentration as blueberry juice or Heide Beer powder )
  • kiwi

Important: A large part of it is lost during cooking, so prepare the food gently, for example in the steamer.

But the approach is better: the fresher, the better.
